Located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of
the Black River, South Haven has plenty of sparkling water and sandy beaches to go around. The town offers a wide variety of activities year around, but summer time is when it really shines (literally). Beach fun, fishing, golfing, or shopping South Haven has it all, including a deep water harbor.

But we aren't a "single-faceted town," South Haven has agricultural roots too. So, whether you want to see tall ships or pick your own blueberries, our town is a must see on any vacation "to do list." Vistors quickly see why South Haven has been called "a gem among small American towns." Getting here is easy, the South Haven area is convenient to Chicago and Detroit off major freeways.

South Haven, Michigan is open 365 days a year!
In winter, ski or snowboard at a nearby resort or snuggle up by the fire at a fabulous Bed & Breakfast. In the spring, stroll along the shoreline and see the flowers in bloom, stopping to browse at unique shops along the way. During a summertime trip, take a romantic walk in a vineyard, or pick your own fresh fruits from one of the many farms before heading to the annual Blueberry Festival! In the fall, enjoy a hayride and some apple cider at a pumpkin farm, or enjoy great food from some of the famous restaurants in town. There is plenty of nightlife too, with concerts, festivals, and live theatre year round.

Beaches and Parks

North Beach
Just north off the pier and running off Lakeshore Drive. It costs $5 per day to park during the summer, daily and weekly passes are available. Features include concessions, volleyball courts, lifeguards and restrooms.

South Beach
Across the river from North Beach on Monroe Drive. All of the same parking fees and features apply as with North Beach.

Packard Park
Located on North Shore Drive, Packard Park has a beach setting on one side and a park setting on the other, with a playground, picnic tables, and restrooms.

The South Haven also has: Elkenburg Park, Kid's Corner, the Public Boat Launch & Black River Park Riverfront Park, and Stanley Johnston Park.
